Course Overview

Also known as cot death, or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, SID is the sudden, unexpected and unexplained death of an apparently well infant. In the UK, at least 300 babies die suddenly and unexpectedly every year. Being able to reduce the risk of any sudden, unexpected and unexplained death of an apparently well infant is a tremendous opportunity for everyone involved in a baby’s care.

This e-learning course has been developed to promote and support key safe baby sleeping messages, raising the awareness of parents, family members or other people who come into contact with families. On completion, learners will have an increased understanding of what can be done to keep sleeping babies as safe as possible.

On completion of this course learners will know:

  • Your key messages
  • How to keep sleeping babies safe
  • How to locate and provide supplementary resources.
